I dont think this means anything. With the huge influx of AP and EAD applications - I am quite certain that the last thing on USCIS's mind was making sure that the LUD was kept updated for the 485 apps. The important thing is that you have your 485 receipt and that is the acknowledgment that they have recieved the application and its in order.

We can see more of these GC approvals and visa number allocation in September because USCIS and DOS have to use up all available visa numbers.

Is the email printout of 140 approval enough to attach to 485 app.
I have not received the printed notice and do not want to wait for it.
I want to go ahead with attaching approved email of 140.

Hello,
I have a I-485 pending with a LIN# and in the NEW instructions there is a lockbox for "I-485 and MSC" combo and a separate filing address for I-485. I'm confused about where a "I-485 with a LIN#" combo (my case) should be sending his EAD renewal documents over to? (Refering to pages 8-10 of I-765 instructions).

Dear Sir/Madam,
I would really appreciate if you can help on the question below.
1) My wife changed her last name after our wedding.
2) She got it updated on new passport, I-20 and SSN.
Now, we are planning to travel to India. She has her old as well as new passport .. and the F1 visa and I-94 is still at the old passport.
My question is: Does she need to get her F1 stamped again in order to get the updated name on her new passport?
I would greatly appreciate your fast response.

Thought this might be helpful to those who are planning to travel. You fill in your nationality, country of residence, destination country and connecting country and it will give your transit visa requirements in detail.

Hello,
How can I inform the USCIS (I-485 pending) that my lawyer is not representing me any more? Do I need to fill up any form (like G28)?
I do not want USCIS to send ant document to my ex-lawyer anymore.

Hello gurus,
My H1 expires in march 2009, I have valid EAD and AP, I want to renew my H1to be on the safer side.
My wife made use of her EAD for few months and now she is not working, and we are planning to visit India for few weeks next year and get H1 and H4 stamped.
here are my questions:
1. Can my wife get her H4 extension when I apply for my H1 extension ?
2. Does USCIS know that she used her EAD (Is there a way that they can find out) and will there be any problem in approving H4 extension ?
3. Now that she is not using her EAD, Is she back on H4 status ? She came here as H4 and never made a trip back.

My understanding is, you don't have to. AOS is a valid status until there is a yes or no decision on your 485 applicaiton from USCIS.

You should be able to work use EAD...your husband can still work on H1. First u need to apply for SSN to work.

I understand the wages lesser than specified in Labor is a real potential issue. But what about wages much higher than specified? 10-20% increase will be fine, but what about 50% or 100% jump.
Many of us live in consulting world and in a billing sharing mechanism where your annual wages fluctuates. I am talking to a potential client which can give me a significant raise (please note I am not transferring H1 or using EAD and will be staying with the same GC filing company with 140 approved and 485 pending).

Need suggestion and advise. I recently moved to LA as i found a new job. I do have permanent home in chicago and i m planning to rent a place in LA. My husband�s (EB3/India) employer is willing to give us a �Labor Substitution/I-140� (PD: March 2005). But, I really want to apply for COS H4 to F1.
So the two options we have is
1) Apply for both �Labor Substitution/I-140� and COS H4-F1
2) Apply for COS H4-F1 and let go of �LC Sub�.
I have spoken to a lawyer and he is saying that we can apply for both �LC Sub� and COS and that there is a very good chance that COS will also go through, although there is a very small risk. But, I am getting conflicting messages from other sources suggesting there is a high risk of COS being denied.
We are trying to determine the amount of risk we are taking if we apply for "LC Sub" and COS at the same time. If the risk is high, that we would just apply for COS H4-F1.
This is a really tough decision and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
